I'd be willing to bet we could make 'em work... just need the opportunity to try. :)

Chris

Can you order SAW products, or do they have an exclusive dealer network?

I believe Jason Demello does... call him or Corey at 714.444.4049 & tell 'em I sent you. Don't worry if Jason is busy, Corey is a wealth of info on applications for these...

Thanks, just got off the phone with them. They said it should work. Now I need to figure out how to lift the rear...

I wish you had asked me about this - I could've told you easily that yes, these'll work just perfectly on your Tacoma. Luckily, the 4th gen. 4Runner and the 2005 Tacoma have nearly identical front suspensions! In fact, these coilovers were primarily advertised as 2005 Tacoma coilovers, and I spent awhile talking with some guys on yotatech, and then the guys at Sway-a-Way and Camburg ...

Anyway, these will definitely work. I could even install them for you within 2 hours, probably!

These are valved for the Tacoma, so it should be a seemless transition from being on my 4Runner to installation on your Taco, Matt. :)

I appreciate it. I like to get recommendations on anything having to do with my truck from multiple sources.

Hopefully your parts will come in soon, and we can do the swap...

Matt

I know what you mean about multiple sources ... it just worried me because they are new enough that some companies still don't realize they exist! For instance, Camburg sent me the wrong coilovers at first and then argued with me and told me I was retarded. :)

A 12pk 'o Sammies can help you answer that question. When do you want to do it?

I think the plan with me, Matt, and Chris was that on the 25th we'd be doing it. Matt, if you still want more sources to tell you that yes, they will fit, email the guys at Camburg and SAW directly.

After taking them off my truck, I suspect it'll take around an hour or less to install them on Matt's Tacoma. It takes two seconds to bolt them in once the sway bar is out of the way and the stock stuff is gutted.

Your poor virgin truck. It'll only hurt the first time.

Cedarbarn
06-16-2005, 12:27 AM
Well, ok. Do you think we can cut out the fenders enough to fit 35s too?

r0cky
06-16-2005, 12:28 AM
aw, it won't hurt any more than that kid in your avatar swallowing his cigarette. :P

Sure! :D

r0cky

Sure! :D

Want me to bring my monster dremel?? It's cut out fenders to fit 35s before, and is very gentle ... for a dremel. :D

Jason
06-16-2005, 01:03 AM
Okay! It's probably better than my Twin Cutter. That thing throws large chunks of hot metal, but it cuts sooooo fast.

r0cky

the dremel only throws large chunks of metal when the discs disintegrate ... maybe we'll have both there, and be able to see what the situation calls for.

does he really want to do that?!

He says that now... wait till after that 12 pack of ol sammys... and he'll be unpacking that twin cutters... :)

My truck body may not be virgin anymore, but it is not ready for plastic surgery! Keep your mits off the cutting tools!
