If you open up the solenoid pack on a warn m8000 winch, you will see that the large posts on the solenoids are connected using copper flat bar. i haven't been able to find any copper flat bar to use in my solenoid pack rebuild. Can heavy guage wire be used in replacement of the copper? IT seems like it would do the same. Maybe a length of 8ga with ring connectors? Thanks.

I would think 8 gauge would be too small. I would think 2 at a min. (because that's what size the batt cables are that came with my winch)

so I could go buy a length of batt cable from oreillys and use it in place of the copper flat bar? see pic for copper: http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid207/p05c14fcec2310327022622178d890309/eeb20ca8.jpg

The cheapest and bestest way to do it-
Go to Home Depot/Lowe's/Ace and pick up a couple or 3 feet of 3/8" copper tubing. Bring it home and comense to beatin' the hell outta it with a hammer on your neighbor's sidewalk (don't want to mess yers up, right) and flatten her out real nice like. File down the ends and drill the holes in their respective locations. You might want to think about using two pieces for an even better connection, since you got the room fer it.
