hello,
I am going to place an order for 5 custom steel rims from Summit Racing on tuesday. 15 x 8 with 2" BackSpace 6 lug on 5.5
They do not come painted.
I currently have a set on my truck, I bought them in Feb 05. Cost was $40.69 each... after tax and shipping: $212.40 for 5 rims
If you think you want some of these rims, we could add to this order and we may get a discount.
I plan to run 2 sets of tires: one for the street and one for the trail.
I am also looking for a set of new street tires... might go with these Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor:

What are your requirements for street tires?

35" x 12.50 x 15
great tread
No MUD terrains - strictly street tire.... something that will be absolute crap on the trails..... it will force me to change the tires when I go wheeling.

Well, for the price I paid for mine, you can't beat it.

The rims arrived today!
I will be making upgrades to my sandblasting cabinet this weekend and trying to figure out a good time to paint these rims.

I can't decide on which tires to buy because I can't tell which will be the best highway tire:
GoodYear Wrangler Silent Armor:

Toyo Open Country A/T:

BFG All Terrain:
http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/images/ts-dl/tires/large/all-terrain-t-a-ko.jpg
Who else makes 35 x 12.50 x 15 highway tires? I can't find a lot. Plenty of mud tires, but I can't seem to find highway tires. Toyo makes a good highway tire: open country H/T but it doesn't come in the size I need.

Has anyone run a ProComp tire or heard anything about them?
Here is a shot of their All Terrain tire.

Hey Rod,
If it makes any difference to ya, I really like BFG AT's for commuting.
Cheers,
Matt
A couple guys at work (when I was employed at ANDREW) ran Pro-Comps because thet got a deal on them......They both said never again!

I've got Pro Comp M/T's on the Tacoma. Cant complain about'em, they've been good. I didnt get the front end aligned after lifting and I have a bad tie rod end (slight play, noticed when I put the tires on), about every 5K I rotate the tires to get rid of road noise, but other than that they work great. I've got 41K on them now and should be able to go to 50K if nothing changes.
I would recomend removing the inner magnets before use, all 4 tires together have about 20 plugs from nails and screws.

They say good things about the Toyo's, but they are a little more pricey... I've personally never used them. 35x12.5x15 (http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?tirebrand=Toyo&tiremodel=Open+Country+A%2FT&pc=300540)
Pro-comps would not be on my list, they do not have a good reputation for longevity, ride quality or sidewall strength.
I swear by the BFG A/T KO's, I've had nothing but great service from them... both on-road and off-road. They are a good, tough tire and reasonably priced as well.
You might also want to hit up Jacque for a price comparison when you start shopping...

I've got two co-workers that have Toyos and both hated them. They last about 20,000 miles at the most because of their really soft rubber compoun.d

That is terrible.
I had BFG All Terrains on my chevy, had over 40,000 miles on them when I sold it, with many miles to go.

do you know which Toyo model they ran? They have different compounds for different tires.

they were both ATs. One ran the Open Country. Not sure about the other one.
Rod don't forget about the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO. From what I read and researched they are one of the best A/T for the road. I beleive they come with a 50,000 mile warranty as well. I like mine so far....and the link below has lot's of reviews on this tire.

I am using a cheap HVLP spray gun because I am only learning how to paint right now.
I will be using Tractor Supply Primer and Gloss Black Enamel.

I ordered 5 Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT 35" x 12.5" on 15" and they should be here on Monday/Tuesday.

I did finish the painting tonight.... but there is way too much dirt in my garage and it transfered to the rims. My front axle has a better finish and I painted that outside!

But if they're street tires why didn't you rock the 305/50 r22's man that would be PIMP!
